Do you pay attention to your words?

We’ve entered the third week of The Dream Whispering Experience.
It has been truly magical, eye-opening, and transformative so far; at least, that’s what I’ve been told. Haha.

Yesterday’s main topic was: The Power Of Words.
The journey we went on was so rich I decided to share a bit of the experience with all of you as it may benefit you.

Are you familiar with the book by Don Miguel Ruiz:
The Four Agreements?

The first agreement is:

“Be Impeccable with your Word.”

Being impeccable with your word means speaking with integrity and being mindful of the words you choose to use.
It means avoiding negative or harmful speech and being truthful in the way you communicate.
Additionally, it involves being responsible for the effects of your words, taking ownership of what you say, making an effort to communicate clearly, and following through on your promises and commitments to others as well as yourself.
The idea is to use language in a respectful, kind, and supportive way to oneself and others, avoiding causing harm or spreading negativity.

😮‍💨 Okay, let’s take a breath. That’s a lot of WORDS! 😳

“This is great, Cathy, but how do I become impeccable with my word?”

So glad you asked! Here are a few things you can try:

Five ways to work on being impeccable with your word:

1 - Practice mindfulness:
Take a moment to reflect on the words you choose to use, considering their impact before speaking. Words carry energy; use high-energy ranked ones.

2 - Listen actively:
Pay attention when others speak, and make an effort to understand the intent behind their words. If you disagree, wait until they are done talking before forming a response. It is a practice, especially during “heated” conversations!

3 - Seek to understand:
Ask questions and make an effort to understand the perspectives of others, avoiding jumping to conclusions or assumptions.

4 - Apologize when necessary:
If you realize that you have used your words in a harmful or damaging way, take responsibility and apologize.

5 - Surround yourself with positive role models:
Seek out relationships with people who communicate positively and respectfully. Surround yourself with people who feed your soul as much as possible and who you want to be like.

So, being impeccable with your word is an essential aspect of effective communication and also personal growth.

It may feel uncomfortable at times. So remember to breathe deeply when discomfort shows up.
As best as you can, be mindful of the words you choose, speak truthfully, and avoid negative speech.
Remember to take responsibility for your words, communicate clearly, and follow through on your commitments.

Your words have power, they can help you improve your relationships, reduce unnecessary suffering, and positively impact yourself and others. I invite you to be impeccable with them!
